I still think a good habit to get into is to specify basic assumptions and limitations. Though it's a readline thing, it might only work in bash because bash has substantial configuration features for this. Would these configurations also apply to other apps linked with libreadline? And I still wish the bash defaulters got their bums up for a basic history search with the pgup/pgdown keys. One for which one doesn't have to RTFM to be able to make use of any of it it, like ctrl-R.
