You understood correctly.
There looks to be a few people encountering problems with the 6600 and linux,
but from what I have read they are all PCI-Express + AMD64 related problems.
I know nothing of PINE but from what I have quickly read the 6600 seems to be
a good chip and two DVIs would be quite handy IMHO.
