After prompting for a root password rpmdrake the software installer program will open Enter mysql in the find box and click the search button. A list of mysql applications will appear. Check the box next to the particular application you wish to install and click on the install button. The installer will prompt you to insert the appropriate cdrom. **************************************************** OS=Mandrake 10.1 All went well up to inserting the cd into cdrom. My cdrom was opening the other day because I put a cd into it, but because its not mounted I couldnt use it anyway. Today the tray does not eject, I'm not sure if this is the hardware (cdrom) or because my daughter turned the comp off at the wall without shutting the comp down first. I installed an old cdrom (tray popped out) but the system couldnt find it again. So close but so far....... Any help please Regards Kelvyn
