Hi, good to see your letter - we were all newbies at one stage...
From: http://xtra.co.nz/help/0,,5739-907829,00.html * Operating Mode : G.992.1, G.DMT or ANSI T1.413 iss 2 but NOT G.Lite or G.992.2 * VPI : 0 * VCI : 100 * Encapsulation : RFC 2364 (or "PPPoverATM", also known as "PPPoA") * Username: Always needs the extension ".xadsl" after the normal username, and should be entered in the form of an email address, e.g. "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" * Password: This should be the same password that you use for your normal account. You can change your Xtra password online at the My Account Web site by selecting the option to Change My Password. If you can no longer remember your ADSL password, please ring 0800 738 738 with a copy of your Telecom account number. If you are a new customer, you would have been asked for a password when you registered over the phone, or selected your own password if you applied online. So yes, a value of 0.100 for vpi/vci looks a bit wrong... There may be entries in the /var/log/messages file which are adsl related... As root, you can search through the message file for the string "adsl" in a case insensitive fashion with grep -i adsl /var/log/messages or you can less /var/log/messages (space for next screen full, ctrl-c (control C) to quit. Hope this helps, (HTH) Derek.
