I have Suse 9.3 installed dual boot with windows XP on a desktop machine that uses a Leadtek GeForce 2 video card and a ADI MicroScan F720 17" monitor. I am finding that it is difficult to use the KDE gui for any length of time without eye fatigue. The text all seems just a little blurry - especially in Firefox.

It is running at 1024x768 @ 78hz. I have played around with different fonts and sizes (both on the desktop and Firefox) but I haven't been able to find a setup that affects the slight blurriness. I have downloaded and installed Nvidia driver updates.

This is not a problem in windows so I assume there is a setting within Suse that will give me a sharper onscreen image.

Sue M had this exact same concern, but on ATI Radeon. Solution: Ubuntu.

The Gnome desktop fonts & colours are simpler but much more crisp. Maybe you could try (installing &) restarting your Suse desktop into a Gnome session, to see if there's a difference. I am interested to know how well it goes.

Cheers, Rik
