Sue M had this exact same concern, but on ATI Radeon. Solution: Ubuntu.
The Gnome desktop fonts & colours are simpler but much more crisp. Maybe
you could try (installing &) restarting your Suse desktop into a Gnome
session, to see if there's a difference. I am interested to know how
well it goes.
