I know where you are coming from Volker. I used Quanta+ as my html
editor on RedHat for 2+ years, very happily. This was because the prior
trial of Bluefish 0.7 on Mandrake left me quite cold. But I'm trying it
again now, as Quanta seems overdone with toolbars, icons, & font size
clunkiness. Gedit has come a long way too - along with Bluefish it
offers a more cut-down frame, but no tag completion. Bluefish has CSS
(etc) help too.
These latter two options have the advantage of eliminating KDE libs as
something I might (erroneously) blame when/if things go wrong.
