As you probably know i live in Lyttelton, and have a number of wireless (802.11b) cards, including two pci cards whach will take external aerials, as well as numerous small router-suitable junk^h^h^h^h boxes. My house is partially wired for networking, and if i lose some weight i can probably put a box in the highest part of the roof connected to an external aerial (it pays to keep the aerial wire as short as possible, which means siting the box close to the aerial. Alternatively the usb devices can allow a longer cable between computer and aerial (because the wireless device is at the aerial end of the cable) I've always wanted to set up a small wireless net. I'm not sure if it would make it over the harbour. worth a try i would have thought. I have no idea of the "crow flies" distance. Now where in DH are you?
