I have a car PSU specific to my laptop - works wonderfully. I also have a DSE inverter that provides a 240 V normal wall outlet in the car, so you can use your normal mains PSU or other normal gear. Give me a yell off list if you want to borrow it. Note you can't run a laser printer or any motor off this inverter.
