Just a thought, spamassassin can be invoked in two ways - as spamassassin or as a server client thing as spamc. If kmail is invoking spamc then spamd needs to be running - you need to start it like any othe daemon. spamd/spamc is far more resource frindly. Also found this, dunno if it is relevant as you haven't told us which version of kde/kmail u r running. http://www.tomchance.org.uk/research/random/kmail then again you have probably already found that via google, which is where I found it :-) > >> > Also , no one answered my query regarding the transfer of files >> > from /usr/shared/spamassassin to etc/mail/spamassassin/local.cf >> > >> > Are the shared files automatically added/used by the /local.cf >> file...or >> > should I copy them to the /local.cf file (in part / as a whole)? >> >> As I said, you don't need to fiddle with spamassassin's default >> configuration at all, and shouldn't do so until you have reason to. > OK...so now I know...learnt something new. >> Exactly how SA filters your email has no influence on whether your whole >> spam checking setup with kmail works. > Agreed. >> The files in /usr/share are always used by SA.
