No I just wanted to check that your dmesg buffer had all the required info. Please advise how your cd is plugged into the system - is it on the ide bus? (Usually the ide bus has two sockets on the motherboard (primary and secondary) and each of those can have two devices (master & slave). Ohhh, and has the cdrom worked before on tha machine, in linux and/or windows (actually I assume you installed from it but I can't be sure). > > Linux version 2.6.3-7 mdk > bios-e820: 0000000000000000 - 000000000009f800 (useable) > bios-e820: 000000000009f800 - 00000000000a0000 (reserved) > bios-e820: 00000000000e6c00 - 0000000001000000 (reserved) > bios-e820: 0000000001000000 - 00000000040fd800(useable) > bios-e820: 00000000040fd800 - 00000000040ff800 (ACPI data) > bios-e820: 00000000040ff800 - 00000000040ffc00 (ACPI NVS) > bios-e820: 00000000040ffc00 - 000000000c00000 (useable) > bios-e820: 00000000fffe6c00 - 000000010000000 (reserved) > > -- Nick Rout <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
