No I just wanted to check that your dmesg buffer had all the required
info.

Please advise how your cd is plugged into the system - is it on the ide
bus? (Usually the ide bus has two sockets on the motherboard (primary
and secondary) and each of those can have two devices (master & slave). 

Ohhh, and has the cdrom worked before on tha machine, in linux and/or
windows (actually I assume you installed from it but I can't be sure).
