That's the first kernel loaded (fdd), & then it loads a second one (hdd).

But today's date in /boot (previous post) seems to show that the boot process unpacks initrd-2.6.9-x1.gz & map off fd0 & into /boot each session, and the task is to shift all the content to run out of /boot (once debian/boot/grub has told the kernel there to boot).

At least this is my first thought as to why grub boot Xandros won't.
