Programming information is a source of profit for TV stations etc. Sky sells its monthly program schedule magazine as an additional extra to subscribers.
Maharey TV & TV3 sell their schedules to newspapers, TV Guide, and womans magazines. I suspect broadcasters will be reluctant to give away this income. They would see witholding this information usefull to smart recorders, such as mythTV, would limit their utility, and thus numbers using commercial skip features to deny advertisers access to viewers eyeballs.
