Yep - there's no PATA labelled on the schematics of the latest south bridge. 10 USB ports and lots of SATA :-) Probably been trolling the Register hardware section again instead of working? http://www.channelregister.co.uk/2006/02/20/intel_ich8_southbridge/ PATA (IDE) is very definately legacy kit now. Prices probably won't drop until the last minute, but if you're investing in disk now, think carefully about what interface you're choosing, and why. If you have SATA available, I'd recommend using it. Prices per GB are basically the same. -jim
