The extra 2 x hot-swapable hard drives listed were part of the backup solution
as well as rsync over ssh to an externally hosted box. I was thinking SATA
hotswap but USB2 would probably be acceptable.

Indeed, as I was thinking of a pre-built brand name box I was taking these for
granted.

Sorry, I didn't want to bore everyone. At present just file serving for
Windows clients and backup.

There are 6 users sharing files and doing a largeish amount of emailing. Data
storage is currently around 50GB from 4-5 years worth of junk.

The current hardware is 4-5 years old and is proving to be unstable (not
surprising since it is running Win2K Pro, but it is unknown whether it's
caused by hardware or software issues yet), once a new box has taken over the
old ones duties, it can be diagnosed and possibly used in another Linux
related role :)

Possibly running a local MTA+IMAP server.

Thanks for the reply.
