Thanks for the offer, but I'll have to pass. Nothing against gentoo,
one day I may well give it a go when a garage session and a free weekend
day coincide.
I'm very tempted to start from scratch with that installation and just
never never ever update the kernel... until I have moved up the
learning curve a little more so that all this module compiling makes a
bit more sense than currently.
