I've upgraded to ubuntu dapper, which is a bit more bleeding edge than I wanted ( think debin unstable or FC5 ). However, it does seem to have cured the keyboard and clock problems by moving on to the 2.6.15 kernel. I did get to the stage where I could boot a home grown 2.6.16 kernel, but it failed, as my boot partition is using software mirroring, and mdadm (breezy version)requires devfs, which has been removed from the kernel, and you can't upgrade devfs because.... standard distro hell. Anyway, I'm now using an smp kernel which can see both the cores. Whether they're both being used is another matter. And I'm using the nvidia driver as well - not the one released today, but it's much better than nv! I'll let you know whether going for the bleeding edge has solved my stability problems or not ( now there's Irish for you! ). Steve.
