There are known issues with KVM switches and breezy - I fell foul of them. It 
could well be that you're having the same problem. The solution in my case was 
to upgrade past the 2.6.12 kernel that breezy delivers.

Unfortunately this seems to involve upgrading to the development 'dapper' 
release.

I can only state that this has been reliable for me, but I am only using it in 
a server environment.
