I have d/loaded and am using http://www.fs-driver.org it works fine and it
is just what I needed.

I would like to hide the directories so only I can access them (or better
still see them) 

The way most people do it is to have a small 'port-hole' partition

The thread has gone over my head a bit as it is going in to technical ground
that I have no idea what you are on about.
