see what? The card or the AP (a literal reading of your post is that the AP is 
seen, but I am pretty sure you mean the module loads)

what device does it create? should be wlan0, or maybe eth1 (assuming you have a 
wired card as well)

are there any error messages in dmesg or the appropriate log files?

what does iwconfig tell you?
