read what I said. i didn't say that "ogg support in the ipod OS has been stable", I said that ipod support in linux is stable and "just works" - and it does - the ipod plays mp3's and connects to your computer via usb (or firewire). Linux supports the device in that it will handle mp3's and usb and firewire, and there are several programs that allow easy synchronisation. You will have the same user experience as using it with OsX or windows, but you won't have to put up with iTunes or whatever other things you dislike about windows or OsX.. Just because neither you nor I would want something that doesn't play ogg doesn't detract from the statement that it "just works" (as in "works as intended") although i understand that there are alternative ipod oses that will play a larger variety of formats, but that is unrelated to the original point. Cheers. Incidentally there are plenty of howtos on how to transcode a video file on linux so that it will play on the video capable ipods. -- Nick Rout <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
