I am fortified by the fact that it dials and negotiates (squeals) but then doesn't authenticate. Dialling and squealing means that at the very least the driver is inserted in the kernel and produces enough of a pseudo serial device to get the modem dialling and connecting. If someone would post the logs generated by ppp it would help. Also the lspci output and the appropriate dmesg output when the driver loads. > b.
