I'm not familiar with either of these titles but the following maybe helpful? 1. On the http://www.mepis.org website, Robin Miller's book "Point and Click Linux" is promoted. I've seen a copy in the Christchurch Central Library, it is slanted at the Linux beginner who is coming from a M$ Windows environment. The promo video isn't worth downloading. 2. Tux Magazine, a sister publication to Linux Journal, has proved useful to us. It was a free ezine until just recently but at a subscription of $US9.95/year I'd still consider it. That will give you access to the back-copies plus they now offer a free sample copy. Unfortunately I've biffed the pdf files after printing them! 3. Twelve years ago when wrestling with M$ DOS memory management the appropriate Peter Norton manual was my salvation, all the other books were so despairingly obtuse!! There is a very readable Norton Manual for Linux, a little dated though eg. no talk of GRUB. I believe I've seen it in the Christchurch libraries, it is for sure in our local Waimakariri library system. HTH... Rex
