re:cut and paste

Robert probably told me  how to do this when we installed Mepis. It isnt 
a problem in Windows and basically not a problem in Linux well at least 
as far as the first part goes (cutting or copying) but I am not sure 
what to pull up in Linux to paste the information into. It has to 
besomething I can then put in the share file so that I can then copy off 
that into an email thru windows at the moment.
I guess once I have the internet sorted out on the computer (hopefully I 
wont need it then) it will be simpler, just cutting and pasting into the 
email body.
