Hi Andy,

I collected the dvd, installed it, and have just finished watching my 1st movie, no problems.

Next job is to connect the box to the tv set for the larger screen. The tv has only aerial & rca? input. the box only has vga out, 1 serial port & usb. Both pci slots are in use with a tv tuner card & a winmodem which gives me no problems whatsoever.

Any ideas???

Argh! Must be my handwriting - I put it in 369! Do you know them? The box is outside so you could probably get to it without a problem....

Sorry Barry, hope you get this before they find it in the morning,

Andy

Hello Andy,

I think you had the wrong address - oops
I live at 360 Linwood Ave., nothing in the box at 9.40pm.

Hi Barry,

dropped it in your mail box about 30 minutes ago. From memory - when I installed it I just shutdown, unlugged the CDROM I had in there, stuck it in and rebooted - it was all good to go from there, no new drivers required (YMMV :)

If you're after watching films then I found xine pretty easy to set up - I haven't bothered trying anything else but I'm sure the list will have 100 different opinions to give you!

Let me know how you do with it,

Cheers,

Andy

Thanks Andy, but it must be worth a few sheckles. This is for my 1st foray into dvd's and will replace a 4x cd reader.

Please ring me on 9817172 before 9.30 or after 6pm.

Yes, and you can have it for free. I'm in Lyttelton but you could pick it up from where my wife works in town if that would help? It's pretty old but funcitonal, I replaced it with a DVD-RW

Cheers,

Andy

Hi all,

Does anyone in the Chch area have a dvd reader surplus to their requirements?

I am interested in purchasing one.

Reply off list please.
