Basically, forget it. Benn there, tried that - the cards are rare, cost
>$50, and some have some painfully annoying non-standard serial hardware
interface so you muck around with setserial for some time (and assuming
you know what you're doing). If you get a decent card, it's plug'n'go,
but still >$50. For that price you get a whole new PII computer, or just
about.

The BIOS setup often has enable/disable for the second or both serial
ports if there are 2; also the BIOS boot messages will list a second
pin-header-only port if present.

As long as you have such a bracket with ribbon cable.
