Don't forget that when comparing commercial phone systems you aren't

comparing a $30 analogue phone to a $300 SIP phone. You are comparing a

$300 digital PABX phone which is incompatible with any other

manufacturer's PABX equipment (and probably incompatible with their

next model PABX), with a $300.00 SIP phone that will co-operate with any

SIP system.



But of course Chris H's employer already has a whole bunch of the former

type of handsets, so swapping them for SIP phones will cost real money.
