Upgrading to Ubuntu Edgy Eft a "Nightmare"

Of course its on /. so its unlikely to have any basis whatever in fact.
They obviously have pretty wimpy nightmares, if they could see into my
brain at night....
However, that said, the dapper to edgy upgrade didn't go cleanly. Some
reasons were...
* Mirrors were overloaded and apt-gets kept timing out.
* I suspect the mirrors hadn't fully mirrored upstream.
* Some dependencies were too tangled and I had to resort
to the dread -f (with no visible ill effects)
* I had to convince it manually to bring along the new Xorg version.
I always create a seprate root and /home partition to allow less pain upgrades.
But persistent with
apt-get update
apt-get dist-upgrade
and one
apt-get -f install
paid off in the end.
Last night I was moaning that xtra broadband was the slowest it had
ever been, so my wife said, "It's been unleashed, and it's not coming back!"
