RAM is increasing in price daily. 1GB DDR2 was $120, now it's $185. Whether you
want to wait and hope the price comes down or not is your call!

DDR2 works singly or dual channel, and comes in 533, 667 and 800MHz speeds. If
you can get it. Most motherboards support FSB speeds to 1066MHz, and seem to be
around the $200+ mark. Core duo is certainly the best vfm at the moment,
especially since dell seem to be getting every amd processor made at the moment.

My personal feeling is that 64 bit stuff isn't really supported well enough for
a desktop... too much just doesn't work. Using the hardware's fine, but to stay
in the mainstream, stick with 32 bit OS.
