Microsoft = 'open source'? What the...?

Please don't feed the troll.

Please don't feed the big-headed lawyer User geek,

who knows squat about the economic and social contexts in which software operates.

Open Source companies and titles are making more and more space for inter-operation with Microsoft (force of gravity). Good for them. Microsoft are similarly adapting to their competition, in tentatively 'opening' some code (see Wesley's license extract). But don't try and pass this off as anything to do with 'community' - as vague as that term already is. Market share, more likely.

_Free_ and Open-Source Software is the heart of _this_ online community, though there are a ton of liars out to fatten their egos and/or back pockets by denying that, acting to accelerate the closure and commoditisation of worshipful (new) code - to conform everything\* to their capitalistic (inevitably pro-M$) world view.

So for the benefit of the masses, define "troll".

- 'Arshloch'?

"New users of the internet now use the word where they actually mean flamebait.. The term is often used to discredit an opposing position, or its proponent, by argument ad hominem."
