I am putting forward this email for several reasons but the main one is to suggest that Christchurch Linux users are, in the main, good people with a common interest in using [GNU/]Linux, a free computer operating system.

I joined the list before I had a working Linux system and quickly learned that there was a wide range of skills and personalities on the list but almost always I could get the help I needed by asking the right questions.
(not debating "right questions" now either).
Drift could be ok tho..
Over the four or so years I have been on this list we have seen (IMHO) the odd person express themselves in a way that I believe probably put some users/list members off. I may be wrong and in fact I hope I am but it does frustrate me when I see posts/answers which give the impression that the writer does not have a full understanding of their topic or that their emotion is clouding their judgement/responses.
But here we go - an OT (except for *ix culture) attack commenced.

'You get what you give.'

I know that the discussion about a list moderator was snuffed out a while ago but I do wonder to what lengths one would need to go to be removed.

Are my thoughts as clear as mud?
Do I have to spell it out?
(Should I click "Send"?)
(OK here goes!)
