Which distro are you using and did you use your distro's packages for

java?

You say you need jre, but seem to have installed jdk? (I jre=3Djava runtime

environment, jdk=3Djava development kit. I am not sure if jdk includes a

jre - if it doesn't then you may still need a jre)

which java are you installing? ie ibm/sun/blackdown?
