Ah, yes! The Solex: http://www.velocruz.com
Haven't seen one in years.
I know it's way OT, but AFAIK this list is the only geek-list in
Christchurch. Not only are we Linux hackers, but also, as John Carter
points out, many of us are Makers. As long as list users don't mind the
occasional foray into OT (but not frivolous) territory I think it's great
to discuss other technology related things here (if you don't agree, speak
up!). I am surprised and pleased at the amount of interest this topic has
generated, but I am willing to 'take it elsewhere' if asked, and please, if
you know of a more general geek list in Chch then let me know!
No objection here. Just a question.
How is it that Off-Topic innovation discussion like this rolls happily,
while On-Topic innovation in the area of ideas and (Free etc) software
licenses, to promote and further develop our community, are anathema?
This fact tells us something, but I'm never satisfied with just my
own conclusions. It's all innovation.
That is, intellectual product has many forms (including code & 'IP'), so
will we ever fully discuss the range pertinent to our field? I'm not
expecting any answer though.
Good luck with the energy conservation.
Enough from me for a while. Good night.
Cheers,
