Yes.  So we don't need to worry too much about The Other Bit- there is an 
Other Bit for Windows and an Other Bit for Linux.  Conceptually they are 
identical and can be magicked away with some hand-waving explanation.

Besides, I didn't want to freak out the Kale-dude.  I think, however, that 
John has described The Other Bit quite admirably without scaring anybody.
