This is just a bit of an update for those interested in the sarga. No

I've discovered that not only is it a documented problem, but it's also
been fixed late last year.
I suspect the distro CD's don't have the right bits.
The web ref's I've seen, say to install bits that the package manager
doesn't know about.
So now I'm doing a package manager update.
For interest:
I thought just swapping the graphic card out might work... failed - the
mdb didn't like either an AGP, or PCI card. Yes, I did do the bios thing.
Chris and I talked about putting Mepis on it last night, but I've talked
to David again and he's still very keen to keep his MDV as it's a known
quantity.
I'm quite keen to see if I can fix it now that I know what's wrong.
