Apt.deb-based "just works", robustly and up to date, every time. The

Interesting argument. Me thinks I've heard it before. When did you
switch to Redmond OS, Rik?
Early nineties (thru to 2002) from scratch. No Commodore64 days here.
But at least I don't rely on it for work, anything, or it's shiny Novell
clone :)))
Free CDs in the mail is streets ahead of any other distribution
mechanism, imho.
Free beer better than free speech?
Try both.
Get real. After free speech, getting free beer as well is naive - it's
not economically possible. In this particular case, someone decides to
spend his personal fortune on your free CD. Not a long-term economically
viable option. Might stop tomorrow.
Look 'n learn. There could be some method in the apparent madness.
Sidling back to ESR.. is there a change in the lead pack?
From:
'#1 Linux distro' = RedHat
#2 = Suse
#3 = Ubuntu
To:
#1 = Suse
#2 = Ubuntu
#3 = RedHat
Well guess who's next / no wonder u r smarting ;-))
Besides, where's that free 6.10 CD?
Still waiting after so many months.
Nope. LTS is still good enuf 4 me. Less strain on BDFL's wallet is fair.
Btw, a local Debian user gave me one, thx.
Linux is Linux after all?
No, GNU/Linux is GNU/Linux.
Funny, still looks like Linux to me.
Yeah. Thanks for the opening for more precision. Read your licenses:
BSD/GNU/Linux is BSD/GNU/Linux
- none is divisible from the other, in what most of us are running.
But RPM is RPM, and those that care to unmangle it should bloody well do so.
Strange, I've never had problems. But I've had plenty of trouble with
that .deb stuff.
That's what you get from using Alien?
