Well i looked where you said, and it led me to a facility to edit suses /boot/grub/menu.lst on hda8. It did not let me browse the other unmounted partitions and see what mepis should have had in the equivalent file Editing suses menu.lst file was never a problem... Getting the info on where the other kernel lives, and what version it is, was and still is unless there's a SIMPLE way of browsing hda5 which is unmounted, and therefore invisable to suse by the tools i have used Volker -- Volker Kuhlmann is list0570 with the domain in header http://volker.dnsalias.net/ Please do not CC list postings to me.
