WTF?

Is CLUG so big that it needs to be divided?
Forgive me if i'm wrong, but as one single *nix group, numbers are not huge,
and this limits activity as is.
I could be wrong, i'm only going by what i read here, as i am yet to get my
act together and show up at a meeting myself!

Surely there is enough division in the ranks without a formal one.
If your going to divide like this we may as well just have a debian users
group, ubuntu, mepis, puppy, redhat, freebsd, suse, knoppix, gnome users, KDE
users, and various other groups.

I thought that what made CLUG CLUG was the love of things a *nix, rather then
simple flavor. Variation of approach merely provides enriches our mental diet
as we learn from each other what is and isn't a good idea.

In fact why have groups at all if we are going to just have what we like in
any given group? if we can't except the variation with in the group that
makes a linux/users group interesting, then we are probably better just
learning on our own.

This reminds me of the Monty Python scene from life of Brian where the people
revolutionary front are arguing within themselves over weather or not one of
it's male members should have the right to be a woman or not...
Utterly pointless!
Tea drinking bureaucracy !

I'm not showing up till there's a group for amarok users toying with the idea
of building a luggable computer into a suitcase
:p
