Hear hear!  Just burned a Mepis 6.5 ISO to install on a ThinkPad 600X.  
Tried Ubuntu on a ThinkPad 600E, but it was a bit twitchy for me, and being 
Gnome based I was not happy with it.  Kubuntu was worse, but Mepis was Just 
Right(tm).

My rickety old server still runs Debian 3.0 (woody).
