Just for some mild amusement; one of the easiest programs I have installed on my Ubuntu box was..."Microsoft Internet Explorer 6".

I used this: http://www.tatanka.com.br/ies4linux/page/Main_Page

Still, no matter how many times I run it (I sometimes have to use it for some work related things), seeing IE on the Linux desktop seems somehow, perverse.

Cheers

If only it were that simple. But there are users and there are users who

But seriously, you really expect a Linux neophyte to grasp Synaptic
straight off?

Not that I use it but...

My (KUbuntu 6.10) K menu has an entry "Add remove programs", which
brings up 'Adept installer' with a list of apps in various categories
(not all packages).
