to work using one of our browsers?
Not on Firefox 2 or Konq on my machines
We should not feel left out...
It does not work on IE7 or Firefox on Windows either.

Our tax dollars spent as well as ever (:
The only solution is to complain to MetroInfo, and keep doing so until it
is fixed. Oh, and you could complain to The Press, so that they can
investigate the shocking waste of public money.
Wait a cotton-picking minute.
SVG is an open standard. What are you suggesting? That Metro should use
a proprietary based Flash thing?
Maybe Javascript could have achieved the same effect.
What I think we should do is box a wee bit clever here. If we want to
encourage the use of open standards then we should make it clear that
the choice of SVG is a good one but making it readable only by the Adobe
reader is not. (I have to admit that I don't know whether there are any
open readers for SVG)
Unfortunately reporters are notorious for not wanting to understand the
complexities of an issue but will just get the person who chose SVG into
trouble and hence less likely to make a similar choice in the future.
