Well, gthumb is there by default and might do what you want ... but
why not just install kim itself, and continue to use that? It'll work
fine - it may have to drag in a few more support programs from the
repository, but once that's done you should be OK.
Thanks Jim, gthumb seems to work but not as easy as kim.
Might install kim and see how it goes in Gnome.
