Hi All,I am having fun with Intel and LSI. I have an Intel S5000VSA-4DIMM server motherboard and a LSI SAS3041X-R. It is interesting that I am having issues at all as the card is supposedly supported. When I boot the motherboard, it is an EFI system, after the LSI BIOS init it does not pass off to the normal EFI system for booting. This is an issue as it does it regardless of having and drives attached. I can go into the LSI BIOS and configure it but that doesn't help. There is no option that I can find that says to disable the onboard ROM. Intel have confirmed that there is no way to disable option BIOS ROMs on this motherboard. I have contacted Intel support and they have got me to contact LSI support, but all they say is to do the firmware update. So I am stuck.. I realise there is a BIOS update for the cards but how can I update them? I do not have a spare PCI 3.3v or PCI-X machine to do the updating in. Does anyone have any advice/ options on how I should attack this problem?
Thanks, From Kim
