I was just posting an update.
The wifi isn't working because I don't have the right fw. I think I
used ndiswrapper in 2007... With Sarah's SSH problem taking up my
night, I just haven't got that far, I had to reboot to windows to find
the drivers :)
The display stuff - I haven't even looked into it myself yet.
The suspend stuff, I haven't even closed the lid yet :)
I'll report back when I'm stuck.
