Though usually earth leakage devices require a manual reset.
Don't like the thought of that much leakage grounding through the pc though.

Hmmmm.

That might explain why the computer was resetting itself randomly when I
had the scanner plugged in for a few hours before I noticed the sparking
huh? :)
