Ok, new thread.

Here's a salivating announcement, in the inimitable gizmodo style:

It really is tiny, and mostly works 'out of the box'.  I am running Mepis 
6.something from April, on a ThinkPad 600X from, er, 1999, and I didn't have 
to get any new drivers- the Linux BlueTooth stuff 'just worked', but I had to 
edit /etc/bluetooth/hcid.conf and change 'security' from 'auto' to 'user'.  
I'm going to change that back, to see if it makes any difference as I may 
have had an unrelated problem.

It cost me about NZ$30 from an electronic chain store called Bic Camera in 
Tokyo.  I suppose I could find out how much it would cost to post one...
