Greetings everybody,

I've just changed my firewall s/w to pfSense - thanks Volker - so that I can
create an access point on the P-II machine. The wireless works perfectly with
my ThinkPad which has an Intel ipw2100 card in it, However Caleb's Dell
Inspiron requires one to restart or re-activate the hostap daemon on the
firewall before it allows a connection. i.e. it's a total PITA.

software versions:-
Firewall
pfSense 1.2-RELEASE-pfSense
hostapd v0.4.8

Thinkpad
Hardy-Heron KUbuntu
ipw2100 version=1.3

Dell
Hardy-Heron Ubuntu
ipl3945 version=unknown

Needless to say the Dell associates, and re-associates, perfectly when in an
an Apple Airport environment.
grrr! :-(

What I'd like to know is whether there is a later version of pfSense which
might alleviate the difficulties? And where to get it?

I'd also like some help securing the connection with WAP, because I couldn't
log in either machine if it's activated.

Sincerely etc.,
Christopher Sawtell
