Some chipsets don't turn TV on without being able to detect the TV at the other end of the cable. 2. Several posts on the net lead me to believe that later versions of the i810 driver do not support TV-out on ealier cards. I have seen this in other X drivers too, older chipsets being left behind. OK lunch hour over now, you will have to research further yourself.
