network monitoring SNMP

Hi all,
 
I have started a new job with 100's of computers, switches and routers. 
 
I was looking at net-SNMP and MRTG to monitor the switches and routers for
traffic and cpu utilisation.
 
Any suggestions of anything else I should evaluate ?
