systen>preferences>network configuration. Click on eth0 and edit. Use the ipv4 
tab 
( this is for ii, bit I'm sure hh is the same ).

I recommend you spend some time at howtoforge and use their instructions to 
build this server. IMO your current appreoch will end in tears... unless you're 
making copious notes and are going to start again from scratch using them.

Failing that, the first link searching google for 'ubuntu lamp installation 
hardy' tells you everything you need. Unless you insist on redesigning the 
wheel that is.
