Compliments of the season to you all,

A few days ago I began having an issue with my Firefox window which I'm stumped on. It is an Ubuntu 8.10 install with Gnome. The window is always in a maximised state, where the title bar with close button is missing, and the bottom of the window covers a panel there. I can move the window to another workspace, or move the panel to another edge of the screen, but this doesn't help. Right clicking the Firefox button on the panel, I can use minimise, unminimise, or close, but not move or resize. I can't use the Alt key + drag the window. Fortunately I can Alt + Tab to another window when Firefox has the focus (or close via Alt + F4) since every time it gets the focus there are no other obvious navigation options visible. The Firefox window is the only one that exhibits this behaviour. Google hasn't helped so far, does anyone have any ideas on how to rectify this? My only idea at this point being a removal and reinstall of Firefox. First though I was interested to see if there is a solution or understanding of the situation from a list member?

Cheers,
Roger
